Building Inspections Division
The City of Decatur's Construction Inspections division is responsible for reviewing architectural building plans, issuing permits and performing inspecions of any new construction projects (Residential and Commercial) occuring within the corporate limits of City of Decatur. Inspection of structural aspects, electric systems, plumbing systems, mechanical systems and any other life/ safety related items are included in this process.
Boards & Commissions
- Electric Commission - Meets first Wednesday of January, April, July and October
- Heating, Airconditioning, and Refrigiration Commission - Meet as needed
- Construction and Housing Board of Appeals - Meet as needed
