Decatur Councilman Larry Foster

Larry W. Foster is a businessman, civic leader and former Decatur City Councilman having served terms during 1977- 81 and 1995 - 1999. Additionally, he was a member of the Decatur Planning Commission for several years.
He is the President of Foster Financial Services, a company he founded in 1977. The firm is affiliated with Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance and furnishes securities, investment advisory and financial planning services.
Foster's current civic service includes membership on the board of directors of the Salvation Army, Webster-Cantrell Hall and the Decatur Parks Foundation.
He was formerly the Chairman of the American Red Cross, Macon County Chapter; and is a past member of the boards of directors of the United Way, Decatur Memorial Hospital and the Symphony Guild.
In May of 2008, he received the prestigious William Booth Award for his substantial contributions to the work of The Salvation Amy. Foster was Chairman of the recently completed $5 million capital campaign for the Decatur unit.
He has been active in his profession and is past president of the Central Illinois Estate Planning Council and the Decatur Association of Financial Service Professionals. He is a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table.
A Decatur native, Foster graduated from Eisenhower High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Millikin University and a Master's Degree from American College in Bryn Mawr, Penn.
Foster, and his wife Deborah, have five children, 14 grandchildren and reside in South Shores.
