NOTICE - NEW DOWNTOWN DECATUR TROLLEY ROUTE
The DOWNTOWN DECATUR TROLLEY will have a new route, beginning on Monday, August 4th. The current schedule will NOT change. Click HERE to see the map of the new Trolley route.

NOTICE - Special services during the 2014 DECATUR CELEBRATION
1) Decatur Public Transit System will provide special services during the 2014 Decatur Celebration, including operating later each night starting with Carnival Night, and operating on Sunday. Click HERE for detailed information on these special services.
2) The Transit System will also provide shuttle service to all area hotels and motels, for our out of town visitors. Click HERE for information on this special shuttle service.

Transit Center The Decatur Public Transit System (DPTS) operates 15 bus routes and a downtown trolley route on a pulse system with buses departing the downtown Transit Center at 15 and 45 minutes past each hour. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 5:30 A.M. to 7:15 P.M. and on Saturday from 6:15 A.M. to 7:15 P.M. No service is provided on Sunday or on major holidays, which include: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day. Bus fares are shown below; discounted punch cards and monthly passes are also available:

Transfers ............................................................................. Free

Free bus transfers are issued for connections with other DPTS routes. Transfers are issued only when a fare is paid and are valid only at the Transit Center and at other points where bus routes intersect. Transfers are issued to allow a passenger to make a complete one-way trip and are not intended to allow a passenger to make a return trip to the point of origin. Transfers must be used on the first connecting bus.

A 20 ride Punch Card and a Monthly Pass are also available. The Punch Card has no expiration date, while the Monthly Pass is good only in the month of issue.

Punch Cards and Monthly Passes may be purchased at the Senator Severns Transit Center (353 E. William St.) or the DPTS Administration Office (555 E. Wood St.) or by mail. If you are ordering by mail, please send a check or money order made payable to Decatur Public Transit System to:

In addition to fixed route bus service, DPTS also provides "Operation Uplift", door-to-door paratransit service for individuals who are unable to use the fixed route bus system due to a disability. Paratransit service is available during the same days and hours of operation as the fixed route bus system, but "Operation Uplift" operates on a demand responsive basis.
