The City of
Decatur is now
accepting Visa credit
and debit cards both
online and at the
Decatur Civic Center for
the payment of most city
bills, fines, fees and
parking tickets. The addition of Visa as a payment option represents a continuation of efforts to make city government more accessible and user friendly as Visa is among the most commonly used credit/ debit cards in the country. The City expects to double the amount of credit/debit card payments received now that Visa can be used to pay city bills. The card joins a growing list of payment options now available as a convenience to Decatur residents. |
Payment may also be
made with MasterCard,
Discover and American
Express in addition to
cash and check
payments and direct
pay. With direct pay,
municipal bill payments
are deducted
automatically from a
resident’s checking or
savings accounts with
no further action
required on the part of
the resident to make the
payment. Items that can be paid using credit/debit cards include: utility bills (including water), garage C parking permits, duck blinds, boat licenses, pier permits, weed citations, parking tickets, building permits, 72 Hour Cleanup Notices, lake and pet citations. “We’re doing all that we can to make interactions with city hall |
as seamless and
convenient as possible
for our residents,” said
City Manager Ryan
McCrady. “City staff
wants to make sure that
we eliminate all
potential hurdles for
doing business with us
and the addition of Visa
as a payment option will
make bill payment much
easier.” Direct pay sign up forms are available on this web site under the public information link and in the city’s water billing department on the second floor of the Decatur Civic Center. For more information contact Billy Tyus at 424-2753. |
